I wish the school was still alive and well.  Here's an article that I found while Googling Aquinas.

Please send me mail with any additional information.  I would love to see pictures.

Thank you,

I agree- there was something special about the school; lots of fond memories and it's really sad to see that great old building just rotting....

THANKS FOR THE SAD ARTICLE ABOUT THE BUILDING & PROPERTY.  I DROVE BY IT TODAY IN THE DOWNPOUR RAIN ... AND IT DID LOOK DECREPIT AND DISCOURAGING.   HENRY SMOLINSKI, 1959 (WINDSOR)

Ouch  Yes, I agree the state of Aquinas is deplorable.  Is it feasible that there is some alumni that have the resources to have the building renovated or at least sold to someone that could clean it up and sell it?  I   It is a shame because so many great memories were made in that building.  It is so sad!!! Cry I guess that is just wishful thinking on my part!   Thanks for the memories Aquinas!!!

I was recently in town visiting and I drove by the school. I was shocked and saddened by the state of the building. Here are some pics of how bad it really is...

Mary Jane-

Thank you for the pictures.  It is very sad that the school has really become an eye sore and so vandalized that it is almost unrecognizable!   I guess we will all have to remember it in its hey day and keep those good thoughts in our heads!!

Every time I visit NB, I ride by the school. There are no words to accurately describe the feelings. I was really interested in saving the stained glass. From the most recent pictures it looks damaged but not totally. I was entertaining the idea of creating a web page to spearhead a fundraiser to remove the glass and restore it. As you remember, we always had to raise money as a private school. It would be a tragedy to see the glass destroyed. What do you think?

Cry Mary Jane,

Thanks for the pictures...there were a lot of good memories for those of us that were lucky enough to be alumni of one of the best high schools in the state.  It is really sad to see what end it came to, but unfortunately it seems that the parochial schools are slowly following the same paths due to the outrageous cost of tuition.

Those hallowed hall....where we grew together and learned together.  I am shocked to see the condition and even more shocked to find that our documents were not even retained by the Archdiocese.   I sit on the board with the ArchBishop and will remind him of how great the shool once was.     Remember Delight Bakery was next door with the best chocolate covered donuts in the world.   They would let us go around back and even frost our own.   We will never forget our days there.

Charlie...I suggest you check out the homepage and look at the photos I recently took of the building as it looks today.  There is very little worth saving...perhaps only the bricks on the outside and some of the metal lockers on the inside.

Everything else is either burned, rotten, mildewed or just plain shot to hell.  Joe Shilinga
